The Difference

It Comes Down to One Person

Turning 65 means your mailbox fills up and your phone starts ringing. Almost all of it comes from somewhere far away. Here's what working with Scott is like instead.

What most people get

  • A 1-800 number in another state
  • A different agent every time you call
  • Someone reading from a script
  • Fifteen minutes and a push to decide
  • No one to call back next year

What you get with Scott

  • One person, who knows your name
  • As much time as you need to understand it
  • Plain language, no script
  • No pressure to decide anything that day
  • The same number to call a year from now

How We Figure It Out Together

1

Reach Out

Book a time, call, or send a text. Let Scott know roughly when you turn 65 and he'll take it from there.

2

Sit Down Together

However you'd rather do it. Scott goes through your situation, your doctors, and your prescriptions, and explains how Medicare actually works.

3

Decide at Your Pace

Scott helps you compare the options available to you and handles the paperwork whenever you're ready. Nothing has to be decided that day.

Step one takes about two minutes.
The Independent Advantage

Scott Works for You, Not for One Insurance Company

Scott is an independent broker. He represents several insurance companies rather than working for a single one, so he can lay the options side by side and walk you through how they differ, instead of steering you toward whichever product he's required to sell.

His job is to make sure you understand what you're choosing, and why.

See what your options actually look like.
Transparent From the Start

Guidance at No Cost to You

Scott's help doesn't cost you anything. He's compensated by the insurance companies, not by you.

What you pay is the same whether you enroll through Scott or work through it entirely on your own. The difference is whether you have someone sitting next to you while you do it.

No cost, no obligation, no pressure.

Hi, I'm Scott Huggins

Scott Huggins, licensed Medicare advisor based in Novi, Michigan

I've spent the last {{ YEARS }} years helping people around Novi sort out Medicare, and in that time I've learned that almost nobody finds it straightforward the first time through. That's normal. It's a confusing system, and most of the mail you're getting is designed to be confusing.

I live and work here. When you call, you get me. Not a queue, not whoever happens to be available. And when something changes next year, or you have a question about a bill, you call the same number and get the same person.

If you're turning 65 and don't know where to start, that's exactly the conversation I'm here for.

Questions About Turning 65?

Clear Answers, No Jargon

When do I need to sign up for Medicare?

Most people become eligible around their 65th birthday. There's a seven month window that opens three months before the month you turn 65 and closes three months after it. Signing up during that window keeps things simple. If you're still working, the timing can be different. That's one of the first things worth talking through.

What if I'm turning 65 but still working?

You may be able to delay parts of Medicare without a penalty if you have qualifying coverage through your employer. Whether that's the right move depends on the size of your employer and how your current coverage actually works. It's worth checking rather than guessing.

Do I have to do anything if I already have insurance through work?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on your employer's size and the type of coverage you have. Getting this one wrong can create penalties that follow you for years, so it's worth a short conversation to confirm where you stand.

What's the difference between all these Medicare options?

Medicare comes in several parts, and there are different ways to handle the gaps they leave behind. Which approach fits depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, how much you travel, and how you prefer to handle costs. Scott explains the differences in plain language and helps you weigh them against your own situation.

Will you try to sell me something?

No. The point of a first conversation is to explain your options and answer your questions. Plenty of them end with someone deciding to think it over, and that's a perfectly good outcome. You won't get hounded afterward.

What does it cost to work with you?

Nothing. Scott is compensated by the insurance companies, not by you. Your costs are the same whether you enroll through Scott or handle it entirely on your own.
